Timothys Update 01 (9/07/26)

Introducing...The Timothys

We're excited to share something new: our Student Teachers are getting a new name — The Timothys.

Why "The Timothys"?

In the New Testament, Timothy was a young man mentored by the Apostle Paul — trained not just to learn the faith, but to teach it to others. Paul told him:

"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity." — 1 Timothy 4:12

And later, Paul gave Timothy this charge:
"...what you have heard from me... entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." — 2 Timothy 2:2

That's exactly what our students are doing every week — taking what they're learning and turning around to teach it to their peers at Huddle. The name changes, but the role stays the same: same heart, same responsibility, same trust we've placed in you. We just think Timothy's story is a better reflection of what you're actually doing.

So if you hear "The Timothys" from now on — that's you (or your student)!

Teaching Schedule

Here is our current teaching schedule for the whole school year.

Items Needing Resolve

Issue #1 - Teaching Team (Avinlea & Alexis): You're up for this week (9/11)!

  • I have your slides, but we still need to go over your teaching plan—please make sure you're available Tuesday morning to run through it.
  • Don't forget to add your worship songs following the instructions below.

Issue #2 - Update on Student iPads & Screen Sharing

  • During our last Huddle, we discovered that school administrative settings prevent student iPads from sharing screens.

The Fix: Going forward, we will use one of Warren's iPads as the designated teaching iPad each week.

  • Slide Submission: Continue creating your slides as usual and share them with shelbyvillefca@gmail.com.
  • Availability: The teaching iPad will be ready for student teachers to use every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Issue #3 - Students in the back of the cafeteria are having a hard time hearing the speakers and reading the text on the screen.

Possible Fixes:

  • Student Seating: Have students sit only in the first two rows in the center of the cafeteria.
  • Slide Formatting: Set slide text to 36 pt (minimum 24 pt).
  • Microphone Technique: Keep the microphone close to your mouth at a consistent distance while speaking.
  • Audio Setup: Reposition the speakers and add a third speaker to distribute sound evenly throughout the room.

Lily and Alison - Your scheduled for 9/18/26!
