God At Work - Core Stories

Hi, my name is Aubrey Staker, and this is how FCA has impacted my life and faith. 

FCA came into my life during a time when I felt completely alone. When my dad went to jail, I fell into depression and didn’t know how to handle everything I was feeling. I felt lost.

But FCA gave me a place where I didn’t have to pretend I was okay.

Through FCA, I found people who listened, supported me, and showed me what Christ’s love looks like. Because of FCA, I started opening my heart to God. I began reading the Bible more, praying more, and actually wanting a relationship with Christ.

FCA helped lead me back to church and reminded me that God was still with me even in my darkest moments. It showed me that I wasn’t alone — not in life and not in my faith.

FCA didn’t just change my routine. It changed my heart

Hello, I’m Alexis Hatcher, a student leader at FCA, and I’m going to share how FCA has impacted my life for the better.

It has been a game-changer; overall, it is the reason I have a good relationship with God. FCA is the reason i took that step and got baptized I would’ve never done that without everybody there supporting me, especially Elena and Marlee.

Looking back, I’m realizing how I used to be. I was rude, I vaped, and I cursed. I was going through a tough time with something that has left a scar on me for years. I was going through a cycle of bad habits. I was rude to those around me. But FCA, with support from my friends, has caused me to live my life as God wants me to.

I am 100% sure there was a reason Aubrey asked me to go to FCA, and if I hadn’t said yes, I’d probably still be stuck in my old ways. FCA has left a positive mark on me, and I can’t wait to continue my Life with FCA!

 My name is Ava White, and this is my testimony. Before Christ, my life was full of sin. I used to cuss, be mean, and look down on others. I was greedy, and I felt like the Lord wasn’t with me. I’ve always called myself a Christian, but I never applied myself until recently.

When I first accepted Christ into my life, I was going through a hard time. At this time, my dad went to prison, I didn’t get to see my baby sister anymore, and my grades were slipping. In my mind, I had accepted Christ, but in my heart, I just wasn’t ready yet. 

This year, I started going to FCA in September. I viewed it as fun worship. Going to a new place was scary, but FCA truly helped me so much in my faith. Whenever we did worship or huddle, I just had this wave of excitement and pure joy come over me. I wanted to learn more. I wanted to commit myself to Jesus. I became more aware of my sins, I started making better decisions, and the people around me even started noticing how I’d been changing! I am now an FCA leader, and I am stronger in my faith than I ever would’ve imagined.

 Hi, my name is Emmah. I have been working on growing my faith since 5th grade, but got closer to God in 6th grade. Before I met Christ, I was mean to people and hanging out with the wrong group of people. I was also not doing things that made me seem like a good Christian. 

The time I met Christ, I was in 6th grade when I was at the FCA Core Bible Study. That was when I made my first time decision and from that point on I got so much closer to God overtime and started reading my Bible so much more. I also started showing up to FCA every week and started showing up to every Bible study, all because of that one Bible study.

My life now that I have found God is so much different than before. I read my Bible all the time now, and I go to FCA. I love going to Bible study, receiving the word, and spreading it. Now I have an amazing relationship with Christ, and I am a way better person now that I have met Christ.

Hi, my name is Dylan. I have followed Christ since the beginning of the 6th grade. Before I met Christ, I would always be cussing and getting in trouble. I would not be doing the right thing, and I knew it was not good for me. I wanted to make a change for myself for the better and for Christ.

At the CORE Bible Study at FCA, on October 22, 2024, I decided to give my life to Christ. I started going to FCA and Bible study, and I even ended up becoming a leader for FCA. I noticed a change in myself, and others did, too. I started putting Jesus first and putting the bad things behind me.

My life has been different; it has changed for the better. From looking at my old self, I can see that I have been stronger in my faith in Christ and how I have changed. I am excited to grow my faith in Christ. I am nicer to my peers and my family now. I am a new person now, and I have changed myself for the better and continue to follow my faith in Christ.

Hi, my name is Madison, and I have been a follower of Christ since the beginning of my 8th-grade year. Before meeting Jesus, I was rude. I would always talk back to people and disrespect loved ones. I would just never find a reason to follow Christ, and I was not happy with myself. I was always making bad decisions and never trying to be better. 

At the beginning of the school year, my life completely changed while going to FCA. FCA has changed my life emotionally and mentally. So many people want to follow Christ. I have looked up to many people at FCA and wanted to have their faith in God. Going to FCA has helped me get closer to Christ and made my faith even stronger.

My life has been different, but it has changed for the better. I’m excited to continue to grow with Jesus. From reflecting on my old self to who I am now, my life has completely changed!! I have fully accepted Christ and surrendered my life to Him. Since following Christ, I now have more respect for adults, especially my parents. I’m able to correct myself when I’m wrong without being hateful. 

I’m a new creation, and I want others to see Jesus in me so I can make a difference in other people’s lives.
